The physical components of the system i.e. computer are called Hardware. Group of programs is called software.
Program is set of instruction that is used to perform a particular instruction.
Example:
1. Now we are taking example of a PC.
Like Monitor, CPU, CD drives, mouse, keyboard comes under Hardware.
But hardware alone cannot operate a PC. then it needs software to perform its operation.
Like operating system(Window XP, Window 7, Linux etc) comes under software.

Like screen, keypad, processor are hardware component and software used like android is used to operate it.
